The Beginning of Something New

Yesterday was Feb 24, 2009. Mardi Gras. The end of a season. Mark had gotten up a little extra early to do something that he doesn't usually get to before work... make chili for a cookoff. I stayed in bed a few extra minutes before rolling out around 6AM. hmmm. Still nothing. I better verify. 3 minutes later, I was in the kitchen with good news for my dear hubby. He didn't have to call and deal with the insurance company... yet again. You see, we have been trying for some time now to get pregnant. Ever since our first miscarriage, we've been a little tentative about trying. But now with the half marathon done and out of the way, it seemed like a good time to start again. We had been to see some fertility doctors to see if there was something more we could be doing. As such, we'd been on the phone the last few days making appointments, calling for coverage, etc. Mark had an extremely difficult time trying to find a place in Austin that his insurance covered that tested, um, *samples*. As it turns out, I was probably pregnant when I ran and he was so happy to hear that 1) we were pregnant and 2) that he didn't have to deal with that crazy woman on the phone again!
